Just as there is a signature scent, there is also a signature sound which suggests great things to come. Gentlemen start your Ferrari engines. For enthusiast and collector Nathaniel Christian who founded the first annual Ferrari Hamptons Rally, the best moment came when 40 Ferraris, the world’s finest driving machines, fired up their ignitions (think how 25 million worth might sound) to get ready for their tour of hallowed Hamptons lanes.

Heads turned faster than as if the Girl From Ipanema walked by as this impressive parade of sports cars drove past. One young banker expressed the thrill, “Most people don’t see a Ferrari up close in a lifetime. I just saw 40 in 15 seconds.”
Christian, a real estate entrepreneur and restaurant impresario co-hosted the event with Manhattan hot spot Nikki Beach Midtown with owner George Iordanou, celebrating the luxury lifestyle and giving those who may not own their own Ferrari the opportunity to experience it for a day. I wonder if that counts as a tease.
Like a woman being offered a couture dress, honored guests were thrilled to be handed the keys to the ultimate male dream machine, with Page Six editor Richard Johnson driving a 599 GTB. But Ferrari enthusiasts include both genders. Just as one woman commented, “I wouldn’t know where to drive it,” another responded, “Oh I do. Everywhere.”

Chef Robert Hesse of Georgica Restaurant & Lounge gave us the inside scoop that he’s going to be expanding and experimenting with the menu so willing gourmet guinea pigs should be sure to visit the restaurant on weekends in September. Sign us up. Just don’t take away the lobster truffle mac and cheese which has become the newest high end comfort food.
And Nathaniel, we’re definitely going to be asking for a ride next time.
