Submitted by on October 1, 2017 – 8:58 amNo Comment

Happy 25th Anniversary Hamptons International Film Festival. Leading this special edition from October 5 – 9, 2017 will be Julie Andrews, Rob Reiner, Annette Benning, Patrick Stewart to name a few.

While many flock in hopes to catch the Academy Award winning film in its early debut, there are also amazing films from all corners of the world with filmmakers in attendance to discuss their work with audiences. This is a unique opportunity to indulge in the human condition and expand horizons.

A few HipHaptons inside tips:

Rush Line does not mean sold out. A certain amount of seats are held for Founders Passes so most times more seats will become available if you wait in the rush line.

I know you want to see the big stars but how about the stars of tomorrow. Be sure to check out the emerging filmmakers and the Variety 10 to Watch young actors. Many of those who come through this program become Hollywood household names.

Documentaries are excellent at HIFF and there has never been a better time to get first hand narratives on various issues. The Conflict & Resolution Section is always fascinating. Yes turn off your smart phone and have a face to face conversation.

Human Flow

Don’t have an invite to the big party? Town is alive with interesting guests so check out the bar at the Huntting Inn, Maidstone, Nick and Toni’s, Dopo or Rowdy Hall.

Check out the programs as well as the films. There are fascinating panel discussions and morning sessions at Rowdy Hall.

Parking: It is two hours in East Hampton and they will ticket. Park in the long term parking on Lumber Lane. In terms of traffic Pumpkin Town on Rt. 27 in Watermill slows everything down so add in extra travel time.

I am going to sound like your mother but smile and say hello. This is a great networking opportunity and chance to interact with interesting filmmakers.
