Hampton Flyboard – The New Hamptons Water Craze

Submitted by on September 13, 2017 – 11:49 amNo Comment

We know that anyone who can walk on water is a pretty cool dude. The newest aqua craze on the East End is Hampton Flyboard where a special water propulsion system lifts you into the air to jet along above the water line. Think Iron Man meets Jesus.

You need a bit of balance and a strong bikini bottom, but most newbies get up on the first lesson.¬†Our Hiphamptons guinea pigs – Holly and Samantha gave it a go and said the key is to keep your toes up and don’t look down. They also warned it’s kind of addictive.

Owners and Instructors are locals Dane and Beau Riva who have plenty of experience as life guards and surf instructors. They got hooked on fly boarding and set out to bring it to the Hamptons. The special boots make it look more akin to snow boarding and the more advanced you get the more you can impress eventually even doing flips.

We went out with Dane who was a detailed instructor and very patient and positive. He gets out on a jet ski that is attached to the propulsion system and guides you along with pointers. You have the option of just going out on your own for a half hour or take a full day trip with up to 12 passengers on the boat. Get ready to be a frequent flyer.
