Best Hamptons Fundraisers 2017

Submitted by on July 15, 2015 – 10:32 amNo Comment

Watermill Center Big Bang

There are a few magical moments when the Hamptons transform into a worthy wonderland – namely the best Hamptons fundraisers.   These fantastic events not only raise money for various causes but create memorable evenings.   Think of it as tax deductible decadence.

A few HipHamptons tips:

  • Find out how you can get involved beyond writing a check.
  • Ladies remember flats and wedges are your friends. Stilettos only work if you are aerating a lawn.
  • Silent Auctions are goldmines of great items at discount prices.
  • Bring your business card and winning smile (yes your mother was right) – personal and career connections abound at these events.

Unconditional Love

Sat. July 8 – Southampton Animal Shelter Unconditional Love Gala

Beware you will say let’s just load up all the rescue dogs in the Range Rover. This lovely event at a private home on Gin Lane is always as elegant as it is heartwarming.  We love our four legged friends.

Hamptons Tea Dance

Sat. July 15 Hamptons Tea Dance

The best dance party and fundraiser for the LGBT community. Get your boogie on with DJ Lady Bunny at Nova’s Ark in Water Mill.  This year benefits the Center Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE) and Callen-Lorde Community Health Center.  This event does sell out so get your tix early.  We remember Orlando.

Sat. July 15 Parrish Art Museum Midsummer Party

A who’s who of the art, philanthropy and business world. Ditch the blue blazer for something more creative.

EHHS Cocktail party

Fri. July 21 East Hampton Historical Society Antiques Show

One of the premier antique events with great social flare, the show presents guilt free shopping and a nod to the rich heritage of this lovely village.  Special preview cocktail party Friday night and the show continues through the weekend.

longhouse blue

Sat. July 22  LongHouse Reserve “Boom! The Cosmic Longhouse Benefit”

These sculpture gardens are the definition of a midsummer’s night dream and a vivid one.   The food, décor, drinks and guests stir up a storm of delight.  Creativity is the name of the game at this fundraiser.  Instagram worthy!

chefs and champagne

Sat July 29 James Beard Foundation Chefs and Champagne

If food and wine are the nectar of the gods – you have arrived at Mt. Olympus or in this case Wolffer Estate Vineyard for the finest array of nibbles and sips to be had from award winning chefs and wine makers.  The event benefits the James Beard Foundation to support the future chefs of tomorrow.

Watermill Center Summer Benefit

Sat. July 29 Watermill Center “Fly Into The Sun”

Two words: super cool. Performance art, installations, theme dressed glitterati, it’s down the rabbit hole in a good way.   Remember this laboratory for performance brings in the most exciting new artists in the world.  The who’s who of theater, art, fashion, and design make this a not to miss event.

Hayground Chef's Dinner

Sun. July 30 Hayground Chef’s Dinner Benefit

Benefitting the Hayground School and Jeff’s Kitchen in honor of Chef Jeff Salaway, this event is finger licking good (no embarrassment here). It’s a veritable pu pu platter of yum. Just take an extra spin class and you’ll be good to go.

Hamptons Paddle & Party For Pink

Sat. August 5 Paddle for Pink

Benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation this sporting day starts with a paddle board race and ends with a sunset soiree on a cliff overlooking the bay.   We love anything pink and this is a party galore with special guests. Surf’s Up!

Fri August 11 Veterinarians International Trunks of Love Gala

Held at DOPO La Spiaggia in East Hampton, this event is always chic and sheds light on a global mission to take care not only animals but on the people and environment around them. We love the elephant in the room.

Fri. August 11 Guild Hall Summer Gala

Kind of brilliant to have a benefit on a Friday night and the A List of the Hamptons come out to celebrate this cultural gem. A very lively art auction as well.

authors night susan lucci

Sat. August 12 Authors Night

The great tradition of writers on the East End continues with this literary spectacular.  You can meet and mingle with over 100 authors over cocktails then head to an intimate dinner party with one of your favorite writers.  Benefiting the East Hampton Library and yes I am a card carrying member.

Sat. August 19 Bow Wow Meow Ball

It’s okay to admit that you like your dog better than most people. A lovely evening of dinner and dancing benefits the Animal Rescue Fund to help all your four legged friends.

CTREE group

Thurs. August 24 Center For Theraputic Riding On the East End (CTREE) at Sebonack Golf Club

Put together an amazing cause, A list guests, and a gorgeous setting and you have an unforgettable evening.  CTREE benefits children and young adults with special needs by giving them riding lessons which builds strength, confidence and connection. Georgina Bloomberg is this year’s Honorary Chair.
