Hampton Tea Dance – The Equal Opportunity Boogie

2014 ESPA Hampton Tea Dance
By HipHamptons reporter Holly Buchanan
Every year at the Empire State Pride Agenda’s Hampton Tea Dance I think two things:
#1 – There’s no way this party can get any better
#2 – There’s no way DJ Lady Bunny’s hair can get any bigger
Every year I am proven wrong.

This year the Tea Dance celebrated its 22nd anniversary, which speaks to it’s longevity and popularity. Empire State Pride Agenda Executive Director Nathan Schaefer shared that it was another important year for the organization. ESPA is especially proud of the legislation passed in the New York State Assembly to ban conversion therapy for minors. And as of this writing, 19 states have legalized gay marriage. (There were several newly married couples in the crowd.)
