The members of CIRCA and their ponies fought valiantly for the win in a close match which went down to the wire.  The Official Timekeeper of Bridgehampton Piaget had crucial importance.

It was a delicious double threat with Bobby Flay and Geoffrey Zakarian officiating the coin toss.  Luckily it’s always a win/win with these restaurateur royals.  Flay who was there with his daughter Sophie commented on his Bridgehampton Polo experience, “It’s the perfect closing for the season to watch skilled polo players and enjoy a great social scene.  It couldn’t be more beautiful here.”  Zakarian was also having a great time.  He joked, “I’ve never ridden.  I don’t want to hurt the horse.”  He gave us the scoop on the newest addition to his restaurant and food network empire – let’s call it a new sort of sea-food.  He’s expanding to include his restaurants on the Norwegian Cruise Line.

Hamptons Magazine editor Samantha Yanks who also officiated the coin toss considered it a successful season for her sponsorship.  “It’s wonderful to end the Bridgehampton Polo season on a high note,” she said, “I’m thrilled with what Shamin Abas did this year.  It’s chic and exclusive and a family-friendly environment.  How great is it that I get to come here with my husband and daughter and toss out the coin with Bobby and Geoffrey.”  Yanks spoke about her latest Hamptons Magazine cover star Emily VanCamp.  “She was the perfect choice as the star of the show Revenge about the underbelly of the Hamptons,” Yanks commented, “And she also wears clothes so beautifully.”  Unfortunately she didn’t reveal any of the secrets of the upcoming season.

The family affair continued with Gianpaolo and Gabby Karan De Felice and their children.  Even Gabby’s mother Donna Karan joined in the family fun.  Gianpaolo noted, “Bridgehampton Polo has been a fantastic experience for our family.  We wish it was every weekend.”  For the jet setters setting sights on their next destination, De Felice’s Zen Air is the perfect private jet experience. As a second generation pilot, he puts safety upfront with service.  Luckily you don’t need to fly anywhere for their fabulous Tutto Il Giorno food which kept guests’ taste buds talking all season.  A high point is always seeing Tutto’s Chef and Co-owner Maurizio Marfoglia with his winning smile at polo.

Of course it wouldn’t be Bridgehampton Polo without star power and who better than Star Jones to brighten the VIP tent.  Along with star power comes style power from Nicole Miller whose breezy colorful dresses have graced many a well dressed woman under the tent.

Polo proves that the perfect blush isn’t just reserved for brides.  The best accessory at Bridgehampton Polo of course is a cold glass of rosé.  The crisp rosé from St. Tropez, Bertaud Bellieu, graced the lips of many a connoisseur including chef Bobby Flay.

The Davidoff Cigar Garden proved a prime viewing area for the match and social hot spot.  Men and women were enjoying a puff on the smooth Davidoff cigars including star polo player Nic Roldan.

No one wants to admit to the end of summer so for that endless year-round summer, guests checked out the Jamaica tourism booth.  Marcia Sinclair noted, “We have a phrase which says ‘Once you go you know’” of the island’s loyal following.  She added, “We have a mix of all inclusive resorts, boutiques, and high end properties so we have something for every budget range.”

The Jamaican vibe continued in the tent where the Experimental Cocktail Club has delighted guests with their unique weekly concoctions, this week offering the Jamaican Pogo with rum, lime, Habanero bitters, and smoked pineapple.  We’d be happy to experiment with these guys any time.  You will never go back to a pina colada again.

Pointy Snout Caviar

Pointy Snout Caviar

“Where’s the caviar?” became a common question in the tent where taste makers flocked to the official caviar of Bridgehampton Polo Pointy Snout Caviar.  This west coast eco-friendly company won fans who learned that any day can be the special occasion to enjoy this luxury.

Chic shoppers stopped early and often at Michelle Farmer Collaborate.  Customers were enamored of her Pure Lino men’s linen shirts, The Whitewash collection dresses, and Michelle’s own designed dresses and shifts.  “It was great,” Michelle said, “We’d have women coming in and completely switching out their outfits for something new to wear to the match.”  Newscaster Alina Cho came in for a complete redo, emerging in a Pure Lino white linen dress and Michelle’s signature baroque pearl earrings.

Zico Coconut Water

The Zico Coconut Water also earned loyal followers, both health conscious foodies who knew the nutritional and hydrating benefits of their coconut water as well as the social butterflies who pronounced it a fantastic hangover cure.  Keep an eye out on Montauk beaches for their roving give-aways this week.
