Labor Day is time to play.  For everyone who has spent hours at their computer or inside an office or cursing Irene because you are still using baby wipes for a shower this is your chance to blow it out.  HipHamptons gives you pure pleasure permission.  Here are a few of our favorite things.

Wolffer Wine Stand

Wolffer Sunset Fridays

Put on your rose colored glasses and head to the Wolffer Wine Stand for cold wine, live music, and a setting amongst the vines to die for.  Yes it is very crowded so come early and watch out for special parking instructions.  Everyone lounges on the lawn with friends, dates, children, dates who act like children, and even dogs.  You can also shop at Joey Wolffer’s Style Liner for chic accessories – just look for the leopard print truck.

Insider tip – buy a bottle so you don’t have to wait in line for a new glass.

Navy Beach Restaurant

Navy Beach Live Music Saturday and Sunday

Joe Delia & Thieves play a sunset set from 5 – 7 on Sat. and Telly plays a Sunset Set on Sun. 5 – 7 at Navy Beach, a super cool restaurant on 200 feet of bay beach in Montauk.  This is off the beaten path (people even arrive via boat) so a good bet to hide yourself surfside with a cold brew or bubbly. Chef Paul LaBue is creating seafood concoctions for lunch and dinner.

Whether you just have a Jesus complex and want to walk on water or you’ve heard this is the best chardonnay-soaked core workout you can get, make your reservation for a group of individual stand up paddle sessions.  Gina Bradley has created a water world workout — even combining yoga and other fitness tricks.

farmers market

Sag Harbor Farmers Market

On Saturday from 9am to 1pm on Bay Street by the Breakwater Yacht Club come see the local produce from fruits and vegetables and flowers to exotic mushrooms, honey, jams and preserves, and the best pickles ever.  It’ may be a pickle to you but to us it is haute cucumber couture.

Boltax Gallery 10th Annual Small Works

Karen Boltax gathers the chic and smart cultural set to her Shelter Island gallery openings and this is especially fun as the small works are curated from an open call to artists.  It’s worth the ferry ride to explore this cultural gem.
