Hamptons Literary Stars Shine at 7th Annual Authors Night Sat. Aug 13

Read a good book lately?  And no The Great Tweets of Ashton Kutcher doesn’t count.  If you venture to the 7th Annual Authors Night benefit for the East Hampton Library on Saturday August 13 you will have literally an entire tent full of good options from some of the most talented writers around.  Whether it’s fiction, poetry, biography, non-fiction, self help, or cook books, you will find amazing options.  The best part is you have the opportunity to talk to the authors who will be there in person to inscribe books for sale.

The evening’s Co-Founding Chairs Alec Baldwin and Barbara Goldsmith, and Honorary Co-Chairs Robert A. Caro, Dick Cavett, Nelson DeMille and Michael Connelly will be joined by more than 160 distinguished authors.  

Featured authors include Martin Amis, Georgina Bloomberg, Jennet Conant, Kathy Freston, Andrew Gross, Victoria Hagan, Hilary Thayer Hamann, Shere Hite, Duane Hampton, Robert Klein, Katie Lee, Robert Lipsyte, Susan Lucci, Jeffrey Lyons, Gretchen Morgenson, Adam Ross, Andrew Ross Sorkin, Beth Ostrosky Stern, Colson Whitehead and many more!

The book signing cocktail party from 5 to 7:30 is held under a tent on the Library grounds, where guests will hors d’oeuvres and wine.

Tickets are $100 and are available at the door.

You also have an amazing opportnity to continue on to have dinner with many of the authors at a private home with hosts who are a who’s who of the Hamptons.  Tickets start at $250 and you can go to the website to see all your guess who’s coming to dinner options.  Totally cool.

Insider tip:  Go early – it’s hugely popular and you want the chance to get face time with your favorite scribes.
