one for the ages

The Hamptons have a long tradition of being a gathering place for artists and writers.  Other than the eponymous softball game each summer, bringing together these talents, especially in public for an in depth discussion has become rare.  Thanks to c/o The Maidstone Hotel for producing the Art & Dine series where every other Tuesday night the public gathers in a salon setting to share food, wine, and the discussion of the arts with a live in-depth interview of an artist or writer.

This Tuesday March 22, HipHamptons.com editor Heather Buchanan will interview award winning Author Tom Clavin to discuss not only his new book One For The Ages: Jack Nicklaus and the 1986 Masters, but the art of biography and telling compelling personal stories.

Burning questions will be answered such as “The Green Jacket, can you explain the allure… I mean it’s not even Prada?” And “Will the Love Tweets of Demi and Ashton ever become a best seller?”

The event will be held in the Living Room Restaurant at c/o The Maidstone Hotel at 207 Main Street in East Hampton.  The cost is $36 for a two course dinner plus glass of wine and cookies and festivities begin at 6:30 pm.  Reservations required 631-324-5006.

Join for an exciting interview – think Frost/ Nixon but without the English accent and all the sweating.

Heather Buchanan will also be interviewing Emma Walton Hamilton as part of the Art and Dine series on Tuesday April 5th.
