New Year’s is about ritual whether it is toasting at an intimate dinner with the one you love or the hottie you just met under the disco ball.  Being in a committed relationship when it’s only until midnight is manageable for anyone.  Putting your best foot forward on New Year’s day may mean plunging it into an icy ocean to raise money for a good cause.  You can head to a jazz brunch for hair of the dog or you can also put that energy into downward dog in a special yoga class.  It’s your new year so Cheers to you in 2011!

Here’s a hangover cure for a cause.  While bikini and January can put fear on a woman’s face for many reasons, good Samaritans will jump into the ocean to raise money for the East Hampton Food Pantry.

Arrive at 11:30am to register then 1pm to plunge at East Hampton Main Beach.  Registration is $25 and you will have warm food and drink after the plunge.  If you raise $1000 you’ll even get a polar bear plunge bathrobe.

You can also bring non perishable food items to donate to the food pantry and no you can’t ditch Aunt Edna’s Fruitcake here.
