Hamptons Holidays

LIGHTS!

The East End is famous for its natural light but romantics will appreciate the villages’ megawatts holiday lights.  If you’re looking for your Rudolph moment (Valentino that is) take advantage of the romantic display of lights:

 Montauk Lighthouse Holiday

Montauk Light House will be lit every night until January 2nd – just take 27 to the end and just before you drive off the cliff – park.

Long Wharf on Sag Harbor at the end of Main Street is great for a photo op.  There was a tense moment of the lighting of the tree when they discovered they couldn’t have the Menorah and the Christmas tree lit at the same time but the issue was resolved when both sides decided to hash it out over a drink at the Corner Bar and find the local electrician to get some more juice to the displays.

wolffer candlelight fridays

Wolffer Estate Vineyards has its vast acres of vines lit up and you can enjoy jazz on Candlelight Fridays there from 5 – 8pm with wines by the glass and cheese plates for purchase.

139 Sagg Road, Sagaponack

SHOPPING!

My view of gift giving is like the oxygen mask in a plane emergency – take care of yourself first then tend to others.  I’ve been sitting in men’s laps whispering in their ears what I wanted for years and I’ve discovered it’s just easier to whip out my own AmEx and get to it.

Remember to support Hamptons Homegrown – the local merchants, growers, and artisans who make it more Main Street than Wal-Mart Street.  Also don’t forget your favorite local charities!

East Hampton Village Tuesday is 15% off day
