Hamptons Thanksgiving

Before you sink into a tryptophan, family overload, I ate so much my button burst off my pants and almost blinded the Pug coma, get up and head out to enjoy all the Hamptons have to offer this holiday weekend.  ‘Tis the season to receive… um to give.”

Like the last delicious farm stand tomato this is also your last chance for Shelter Island’s scintillating art scene with art sirens Karen Boltax of Boltax.Gallery and Sara Nightingale of the Sara Nightingale Gallery teaming up with neighboring ateliers for Black Friday fun.  This gallery and boutique opening brings together art, design, furniture, antique and vintage jewelry, and fashion.  With these two curators of not only great art but great people it is always the most interesting international crowd with publishing, art, literature, and finance being shaken, not stirred into a fabulous cosmopolitan cocktail.  Remember that original art is one of the most amazing gifts to give this holiday season.  Opening on Friday Nov. 26 from 2 – 5 pm, 21 North Ferry Road, Shelter Island.

I tend to think of holiday shopping a bit like an oxygen mask when a plane loses cabin pressure – take care of yourself first, then help others.  When you can shop and get a bargain and contribute to a good cause you have the trifecta of gift giving, guilt free.
