FRIDAY JULY 23

Fridays At Five – Author Series

5pm

Bridgehampton Library hosts this event each Friday in their grassy back yard with wine and other refreshments.  Authors of various books (books, actual hard cover books, think pre-Kindle) are there in person to give you their first hand accounts of their stories.  This week’s author is Frances Osborne talking about her biography of her enigmatic great grandmother Idina Sackville a proper British woman breaking the boundaries in the jazz age.  Admission is $15.

Bridgehampton Library, 2478 Main Street, Bridgehampton, www.hamptonlibrary.org.

SATURDAY JULY 24

polo divot stomping

Opening Day 2010 Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets Field

4 – 6pm

The players are in tip top shape, sleek and ready to play to win – and that’s just inside the VIP tent.  The exciting game is more than a backdrop to the social festivities with the fines polo players and ponies in the world.  The $20 at the gate goes to benefit the South Fork Breast Health Coalition and you can go early to get your best tail gate spot.  In the VIP tent, and maybe again a VVIP tent invited guests will preview all the luxury goodies the sponsors have to offer.

Rock The Farm

6pm

This benefits the Wounded Warrior Project and brings out not only a super fun young crowd but honors our service men and women who have given so much.  This year the new location will expand the party with an all American BBQ open bar and hours of music by live bands The Giving Tree, Ilo Ferreira and a special guest (last year it was Dan Akryod).  It’s the best $100 ($150 at the door) you’ll spend for a night out and a very important cause.
