Fridays at Five – Author Steven GainesFool's Paradise

Take the time to enjoy this witty author whose Hamptons’ and world views always entertain, giving you a glimpse into the true inside stories of the rich and famous, or infamous as the case may be.  Get an autographed copy of his latest book Fool’s paradise.  Wine and nibblies are served as well.

Authors Night East Hampton Library

This is the true night of a thousand stars or at least a few hundred.  Who knew that the true Hamptons hot spot would be the library?  Honorary Co-chairs Alec Baldwin, Candace Bushnell and Jay McInerny and Committee Chair Barbara Goldsmith start the literary star line up which will also include Barbara Walters, Pulitzer Prize winners Robert A. Caro and Philip Schultz, Nelson DeMille, A.M. Homes, Dava Sobel, and many more.

The evening starts at 5:30 for wine and hors d’oeuvres under the tent and the chance to meet these incredible authors and buy books and have them personally inscribed.  Yes, be a groupie!  The authors reception ticket is $75.  Starting at $200 a ticket you get to have dinner at a private home with one of these authors after the reception.  All proceeds are for the East Hampton Library, a local treasure even if just go in to use the internet.

In our commitment-phobic world, here’s the chance to let your taste bunds run around town, all under one tent.  You can get a taste of the best the East End has to offer when local chefs come together to honors the memory of beloved community member and restaurateur Jeff Salaway who was one of Hayground School’s co-founders.  Proceeds go to benefit the Hayground School’s Jeff’s Kitchen and a scholarship in his name.

Hosted by Toni Ross of Nick & Toni’s and Jon Snow, artist and director of Hayground Camp, the cocktail, wine and hors d’oeuvres and silent auction run from 5 – 7p for a ticket price of $125 or diners can stay for a dinner headlined by Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin, Joseph Realmuto of Nick & Toni’s, Christian Mir of Stone Creek Inn and Miche Bacher of Sacred Sweets for $500.
